A few good questions.
What does LessRage actually filter?
You choose from five categories: personal attacks, rage bait, distressing content, negative tone, and political content. Personal attacks and rage bait are enabled by default. Political filtering includes neutral political news regardless of viewpoint. Negative tone covers pessimism and persistent complaining.
How aggressive is the filtering?
Light catches more obvious cases. Balanced is the default. Quiet filters more borderline content. These settings adjust the confidence threshold used with Jev’s judgments. AI can make mistakes, so collapsed posts have a Reveal button and the page control can restore hidden posts.
Does it work with videos, images, or mobile apps?
LessRage currently filters English text on Reddit and X in desktop Chrome. It reads visible titles, captions, post text, and available quoted text. It doesn’t analyze image pixels or video, and it doesn’t change the native mobile apps.
What counts toward my daily limit?
Only an uncached AI check counts. If your browser or our shared cache already has a judgment for the same text and context, reusing it is free. Free: 1,000 checks per day. Free account: 3,000. Plus: 10,000 for $2.99/month. Limits reset at midnight UTC. The website demo has a separate 60-check allowance. Service capacity and request rate limits apply.
What happens to the text?
After you opt in, the extension sends post text through AWS to TypeSafe’s Jev. Our database stores expiring fingerprints and judgments, not original post text. The website demo automatically checks fictional examples; your own text is submitted only when you click Check this post. Read our privacy policy for details.
